Comparison of Health Practice and Quality of Life of College Students according to Type of Living Together with Family

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare health practices and quality of life of college students by residential type. The data consisted of sample of 377 students(295 students living with family and 82 students living without family) at 1 university in Taegu city.

Analytic methods for the study were chi-square analysis and odds ratio.

The results were as follows:

1. There were no significant in sociodemographic of sex, grade, religion and monthly allowance by residential type.

2. As far as the health practice of students no living with family practiced better health than students living with family concerning smoking while students living with family practiced better than students no living with family in breakfast(p=0.000) and sleeping time(p<0.026).

3. Odds ratio(OR) of the students no living with family to the students living with family for breakfast(OR=2.48) was significantly greater than 1.

4. ORs of the students living with family to the students no living with family for quality of life were not significant.

5. Health practice had not a statistically significant association with quality of life among students living with family and no living with family.
